Quick answer

Buy the Retired Winemaker for 200 favor. Fill a wine bottle with 750 mL of Basewater, add BloomBerry and yeast, and ferment for 2 days. Avoid Pure Water, because fermentation needs its minerals. Wine gains about 3 credits of value a night, and Upper Level Visitors paid the most in one recorded run.

How to unlock it

Buy Retired Winemaker under Referral in Wild's Network for 200 favor on Mark Up. Any favor you're short is paid in credits. You receive the fermenting guide, 3 Wine Bottles, 3 Yeast and 2 BloomBerry bunches.

The Retired Winemaker visits the day after you buy this, then weekly.

How to make a bottle

  1. Drag 750 mL of water onto a Wine Bottle. A Sealed Water Ration (Standard) fills one bottle.
  2. Double-click the bottle to open its panel.
  3. Add BloomBerry and yeast to the grid.
  4. Press Start Fermenting.

Fermentation takes 2 days. Use one handful of BloomBerry for lower grade wine, or two for high grade.

Don't use Pure Water

Fermentation needs minerals that Pure Water lacks. Use Basewater or High-Quality water.

Yeast is optional, but without it wild yeast ferments the batch unpredictably.

Aging

Finished wine gains value overnight, about 3 credits a night. In one run a bottle went from 100 to 103 and 106 over two days, and reached 136 at age 6. That's only paper value until you sell it.

The AgeWell machine speeds this up, but check that the 350-credit cost makes sense for how many bottles you make.

Who buys wine

Wine is harder to sell than the value suggests. Most customers in the recorded run weren't interested, and even a Foodie Tourist refused it.
