Probably Stolen Codex
Editorial Policy & Corrections
How pages on this site are researched, checked, labeled for spoilers and corrected.
Last updated: 2026-10-31
Sources we rely on
Pages are built from primary material first:
- Official text — the game's Steam page, official patch notes and official announcements.
- Developer statements — articles signed by the developers and direct interviews with them, always cited with their publication date.
- Recorded gameplay — when a page describes a mechanic from footage, it names the creator, platform and game version, and does not claim we tested it ourselves.
Community discussion (Steam forums, Discord, YouTube comments and similar) tells us what players are asking. It is not treated as proof of how the game works.
How we label certainty
- Official — stated in official text or by the developers.
- Editorial — our own explanation or judgment, based on the sources cited.
- Unconfirmed — reported, but not yet backed by a primary source. These are marked in the text, or left out.
Developer interviews given before release describe the game as it was at the time. When a pre-release statement might have changed, the page gives the date.
Spoiler levels
Every guide shows its spoiler level under the title:
- Spoiler-free — only what the official synopsis and store text reveal before you start.
- Light spoilers — mechanics or early-game details, with no plot twists.
- Major spoilers — story events, identities or endings. Spoiler content is collapsed by default.
Information being public does not make it spoiler-free. A detail can appear in an official article and still be left out of a spoiler-free page.
Updates and corrections
Each page shows when it was last substantively updated. If you find an error, contact us with a link to the source — corrections are made as quickly as possible and the update date changes with them.
Advertising
Probably Stolen Codex currently shows no ads. If we add display advertising in the future, advertisers will have no influence over what we write, and ads will always be labeled.
