What is Probably Stolen?
It's a cyberpunk pawnshop simulator set on a divided space station. You trade, craft, flip goods and decide how much crime you're willing to risk, all while trying to buy your store before rent buries you. The studio says it was inspired by Space Station 13 and Papers, Please.
Who made it?
Questing Goose Studio developed it and tinyBuild published it. It began as a solo project by developer Bei Ning Pan.
When did it come out?
October 28, 2026, on Steam.
How much does it cost?
The US price is $19.99, with a 10% launch discount that brought it to $17.99 when we checked on October 31. A Supporter Edition adds the soundtrack.
Is it multiplayer?
No. Steam lists it as single-player only.
What languages does it support?
English, German, Japanese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, French, Spanish and Polish.
Does it support mods?
Yes, through the Steam Workshop and a modding API. Update 1.0.0.6 changed the modding system for security, and the developers warn that some mods may break until their authors update them.
Do demo saves carry over?
They do, but the developers strongly recommend starting fresh so you don't miss new storylines. Mods made for the demo probably won't work.
Can you play with only a mouse?
Steam lists a mouse-only option.
How do you win?
You buy the store from the Landlord, then see your run's stats. You can keep playing after that. The rent and buyout guide has the numbers.
Is the story finished?
The 1.0 release has completed storylines for several characters, including Lou, Eleanor, Officer Lun and cadet Serpico. The developers also plan a main storyline expansion that will affect the station and the ending.
What's coming next?
The studio has announced free updates with three new starting scenarios (Junker, Organ Trader and Street Food Vendor), Expeditions, new appraisal items and that main story expansion. No dates have been given.
How well is it doing?
On October 30, the developers reported 500,000 copies sold and 96% positive Steam reviews from nearly 3,000 reviews. The launch-day peak was over 112,000 concurrent players.
